Metallica - Seek And Destroy (pt3) Video In this video, we look at the final set of riffs to Metallica's Seek and Destroy (if you missed any go to the Metallica - Seek And Destroy (pt1) Video).
Teacher sings a place holder along with the riffs which is great to hear exactly where you are. As there are 9 parts to this song it's easy to get lost.
A major tip here when learning any type of song or riff is to know the song inside out in your head! This will make things a lot easier when it comes to learning the song.
Also to speed up the learning process (especially with a complex piece like the above) is to have a notepad with all the songs you are learning or have learned. This has the double effect of embedding the music in your head through visual means.
So combined with audio input, this visual input further strengthens associations with the musical parts, speeds up the learning and makes for better guitar playing.
Not to mention you''ll be glad to have notes of a song like this to refer back to at a later stage if need. Especially if you need to learn a song that you haven't played in a while and are a bit rusty on. So it's important to make good clear notes at the time, which you will understand at a later date if necessary.
One last mega important point. I would strongly advise any learning guitarist not to rely on tab completely! Tab is a great tool sure, but it doesn't provide that all important ear training. This is what sets apart the wannabes and the do-bes! So when your learning a song such as this Metallica tune, make sure you have it on CD or whatever, and learn the parts by ear too. Only use the tab if you absolutely need it. I cannot stress this point enough.
